Be a Part of the New Sevenglory Release

The band Sevenglory is releasing a new album in late Summer/Fall 2012 entitled, "Always Hope". The band needs help to get the already recorded project mastered and on the radio. Lend us a hand to get this album out of the studio doors!

About this project
The last year and a half have been full of change for Sevenglory. We added a new lead singer and guitar player, and emerged with a shiny new sound. Over 40 songs were composed, scrutinized, and reworked to create an album in which we, the band, really believe, entitled "Always Hope". At the same time, Sevenglory finds itself with the heavy task of mastering, duplicating, and putting a song on the radio.

This takes the kind of support that we, the boys in the band, cannot muster by ourselves. The proceeds from this Kickstarter will be used to master the volume levels, duplicate copies, and promote a song on the radio. It will help not only get this music out to people that want to hear it, but also will make it possible for us to continue making quality tunes in the future. "Always Hope" contains a strong message, and we really want it to be heard. Thank you.

The Making of Morning Light EP

At age sixteen Jennie Wellsand realized what it meant to be saved by grace. While raised in a few different churches growing up, Jennie landed at a nondenominational church in Valparaiso, Indiana in 2002 and began taking guitar lessons. Worship leaders from her local church took Jennie under their wings and taught her how to not only play acoustic guitar, but to sing strong melodies and find harmonies as well. Since 2002, Jennie's been leading worship at multiple churches in Valpo and now attends the Valparaiso Nazarene Church (you can watch the Wednesday night & Sunday morning services online at www.valponaz.org).

As years of playing guitar and leading worship passed, Jennie knew one day she would release a worship album. ie that is to say is a testimony of the grace that surrounds Jennie and her team. A lot of the songs written on ie that is to say display God's grace, beauty and His creation. "Everything we see on this earth was created by God and that's something we need to be aware of. Each time Austin Hill and I sat down to write songs, lyrics that declared who God is and the beauty that we see in His creation continued to flow out of us." Many of the lyrics Jennie & Austin write proclaim God's work such as, if your love were the stars, 10000 nights could not contain them and I find you in the night with the beauty of the golden sunset, I find you in the day with the brilliance of the changing leaves, purple mountains tell Your great glory and the reason why we sing. Jennie continued to say that, "It was so incredible to see God work in this album release. I couldn't have spent my 25th birthday any better way than to have the release of ie that is to say. God exceeded my expectations at the release. There were over 200 people at the event, many of whom haven't been in a church building for a long while. It's refreshing to see the impact God's made through me in my community. It's also amazing to see how perfectly God put everyone in my life that was supposed to work on this album with me." Jennie has seen God's hand upon every area of this album release from writing, recording, mixing and mastering the album, all the way to the production of the album and release event. "I thank God for His perfect timing & amazing friends that were perfect pieces in the puzzle of my life and ministry."

Red Umbrella

It is a common thought that good art cannot dwell in small, isolated towns; which is why bands aspire to venture into the world-class cities of New York, Chicago, and Toronto to find cause and effect. But as the metropolitan scenes of the US and Canada restlessly mixed and mashed music styles at the turn of the century, the Michaelis brothers and their high school friend, Jason Rosewell, were honing in on classic rock innovators, like the Beatles, in their small town in Parry Sound, ON.

As they began writing music for themselves, they focused on the simple elements of pop-rock songs: Sing-able choruses; poetic lyrics; classic song structure. As they developed their musicianship, they eventually invited Kevin Swartwood to join the band and Red Umbrella was officially born: Jeremy Michaelis singing and playing guitar; Dennis Michaelis playing lead guitar and keys; Kevin Swartwood thumping on the bass; and Jason Rosewell hitting the drums.

Their first album, "Wishing For Boardwalk", was almost entirely self-recorded and produced in a studio that they built above the Michaelis' family garage. After touring with the new songs and playing in such places as CBGB's in New York, the band was eventually picked up by indie-label 7 Spin Music and the album was distributed by Sony/BMG.

Like in the classic game of Monopoly, "Wishing For Boardwalk" explores themes of progress in a capitalistic society, but also begs the common man for self-examination. Listeners have found the lyrics to be strong enough to stand alone as poetry: "I glanced as much as it took/ His stare as long as a thousand-page book/ I must have dreamt that these steps are in the dark" (from "Trade Your Dreams"); "Lets see where this leads/ Follow the path through the trees/ There she's crying on her knees/ saying 'no one's ever pleased'" (from "Slide").

With minimal production, the simplicity of "Wishing For Boardwalk" displayed Red Umbrella's knack for solid song writing and the bands over-arching skill as musicians. The sound is straight-forward and is reflective of their live show.

After playing over 400 dates in a four year period and moving down to Valparaiso, IN, the band went into hibernation from touring and began focusing on their second album, "Living and Surviving". Reaching higher than their first-album, it was entirely self-recorded and produced by the Michaelis brothers. Scheduled to release in November of 2008 on 7 Spin Music, listeners will find a band that is growing in maturity on all fronts.

Sonically, "Living and Surviving's" production incorporates synth and sampling in the majority of its songs, giving Red Umbrella a new, urban feel. The album stage has even been opened for good friend and Texas-based Emcee, Playdough, to make a guest appearance on "Boompop". The songs, overall, are catchy, memorably and memorable, but by no means shallow.

"Living and Surviving" visits the idea of self-realization with new lyrical avenues of story telling. The opening track, "Prison Side" is the tale of a judgmental person ironically finding judgment upon himself: "Played his cards well, hit a land slide/ Called a losing game, bookie shouts your name/ Pulled your pockets out, pay up just the same". "Crazy" is a poem from the situations in C.S. Lewis' book, "Out of the Silent Planet", taking listeners right into the story of captivity in intergalactic space.

With their new album complete, Red Umbrella is ready to hit the road again and help listeners take a moment to reflect and figure out if they are living, or merely surviving.
